Dr. Muhammad M. Ramzan is extremely honored and humbled to be the recipient of this year’s Theodore Roosevelt Award. Dr. Ramzan emigrated from Pakistan in 1999. His medical career began by teaching anatomy for three years to medical students while completing his Internal Medicine residency in 2004 and later Geriatric fellowship in 2005. He joined Flushing Hospital Medical Center as a Teaching Attending. Joining Mercy Medical Center in 2006 as a Gerontologist and Physician Advisor, Dr. Ramzan completed his Palliative and Hospice board certifications while launching Palliative Care services at Mercy. He is currently the Associate Chairman of the Ethics committee and also serves on a multitude of committees such as the Palliative committee, Utilization committee, PNT committee, and Peer review committee to name a few.
Dr. Ramzan is a member of the All Pakistani Physicians Association of North America. He is a devoted husband to his lovely wife Zainab who helps run his private practice. He is also the proud father of three children. Dr. Ramzan loves spending time outdoors, traveling with his family as well as enjoying cultural activities. His unrivaled pleasure is spending quality time with his family, as well as playing and watching cricket.
