Nurses & Certified Nursing Assistants at Mercy
When the World Health Assembly designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse we could never have predicted how nursing professionals would be on the forefront of a global pandemic. As we celebrate The Year of the Nurse in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, we also honor the nursing staff at Mercy Medical Center which also include our beloved certified nursing assistants. Our nurses have played a vital role in providing lifesaving healthcare to our patients while providing comfort and support to their families. Our nurses have advanced public health by providing education to our communities and are an integral part of our mission. This year, we watched as they excelled under the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Covid-19 and are eternally grateful for all they do. They have embodied the life and career of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale who said, “How very little can be done under the spirit of fear”.
